The AMRAD beacon has been "on", 24 hours a day, for about one week now, with approximately 150 watts RF into a "T" (Marconi) antenna. It transmits continually at 5 wpm, followed by a long dash and a pause to allow for signal/noise level measurements. We still have to work at improving the coupling/tuning unit at the bottom of the antenna. Our beacon is installed in Vienna, Virginia. (38-53-24 North, 77-15-43 West). The message it transmits for the moment is "VVV WA2XTF/6 QSL TO N4ICK AT AMRAD.ORG " , and then repeat. Hope you can hear it :-)
